A team at BDP Attorneys led by Corporate and Commercial Director, Caleb Jones, has advised M&C Saatchi Plc on the disposal of its interests in its South African subsidiary companies to the existing management team and minority shareholders. BDP Attorneys acted as lead legal advisers to M&C Saatchi Plc, advising on all corporate and regulatory aspects of the transaction.
The South African subsidiaries disposed of comprise M&C Saatchi Abel, M&C Saatchi Connect, Levergy Marketing, Razor Media, Dalmatian Communications and Black & White Customer Strategy (the “South African Group”).
The disposal forms part of M&C Saatchi’s broader strategy to simplify its operating structure while retaining its valued affiliation with the South African businesses.
M&C Saatchi Plc is a market leading full-service international marketing and communications agency operating in 23 countries, headquartered in London and listed on the London Stock Exchange. The South African Group employs in excess of 350 employees and, post-completion of the transaction, will be the largest independently owned marketing and communications agency in South Africa.
The transaction remains subject to the satisfaction of certain customer regulatory approvals.
