Heike Hartnick is an associate in the firm’s Family Law and Litigation divisions. Heike originates from Mossel Bay, situated in the Southern Cape region of the Western Cape Province.

She completed her practical vocational training at BDP Attorneys under the esteemed mentorship of Mr. George De Beer and Mr. Charl May and was admitted as an attorney in December 2025.

After obtaining her LLB from the University of the Western Cape, Heike distinguished herself by pursuing an LLM in Comparative Labour Law at the same institution. During her postgraduate studies, she was privileged to undertake an internship at the International Labour Organisation in Geneva, Switzerland. There, she collaborated with multiple member states and contributed significantly to the authorship and publication of the influential work, Access to Labour Justice: A Diagnostic Tool for Self-Assessing the Effectiveness of Labour Dispute Prevention and Resolution.

Heike has since expanded her expertise in family law and insolvency, working closely with Mr. George De Beer in finding swift and appropriate resolutions for clients, consistently demonstrating empathy and an understanding of their circumstances. She is known for her formidable advocacy skills, whether in written submissions or oral proceedings.

Furthermore, she collaborates extensively with the firm’s  Managing Director, Mr. Charl May, particularly in matters concerning labour law and related fields, further enriching the firm’s capacity to serve our clients effectively.
